Celebrating Industry Pioneers

Recognizing excellence in local lodging and dining is a cornerstone of our vibrant regional economy. These early winners showcase the incredible dedication found throughout various Connecticut counties.

Charles Mallory, the visionary founder of the Greenwich Hospitality Group, has earned the prestigious hotelier of the year award. His continued success comes from successfully expanding his renowned Delamar brand.

Meanwhile, Yuta Kamori of the Hachiroku Hospitality Group has secured the restaurateur of the year title. This honor celebrates his exceptional culinary ventures located right in New Haven County.

Hall of Fame and Special Honors

Longstanding local favorites are also receiving major statewide recognition during this year’s awards cycle. Exceptional venues continue to shape the character of our cities and towns.

The beloved Vanilla Bean Café in Pomfret will be proudly inducted into the Connecticut Hospitality Hall of Fame. Operated continuously by the Jessurun family since 1989, it remains a true staple.

State Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff will also be honored with the distinguished friend of the industry award. His legislative support has consistently aided local tourism and hospitality businesses.

Contested Categories and Public Voting

Beyond these early announcements, finalists spanning 17 competitive categories have officially been revealed. Citizens are encouraged to explore various local attractions and support their favorite neighborhood spots.

Winners in these heavily contested fields will be entirely decided by public vote. Numerous establishments situated throughout Hartford County feature prominently among this year’s finalists.

Public participation remains vital for categories that highlight exceptional talent across the region. Key areas still open for community voting include:

  • Restaurant of the Year recognizing overall dining excellence.
  • Pastry Chef of the Year honoring sweet culinary artistry.
  • Service Team of the Year celebrating front-of-house hospitality.

Travelers planning to attend the December ceremony at Foxwoods can easily find great lodging options. Visitors should check out recommended places where to stay to make the most of their casino resort experience.

The annual CRAZIES event continues to be the premier night out for local culinary professionals. Be sure to cast your ballots before voting closes on November 29.
