Owner Joe Ploof, 45, moved to Hartford in 2017 and brought his hospitality know-how from Hanging Hills Brewing Company into this neighborhood project. He leased the landmark last April and spent 11 months renovating what he called a “pretty rough” building, turning it into a stylish, welcoming hangout with a distinct upstate vibe.
