History of East Granby
East Granby’s story begins in the 1660s when it was first settled as part of Simsbury. The area was originally home to Native American tribes like the Algonquin and Massaco. In 1858, East Granby was officially incorporated as a town. Before that, it was known as Turkey Hills Ecclesiastical Society and was part of Granby.
